Ruth Carney

ruth-squareHaving worked as a Religious Education teacher in a multi-faith secondary school, Ruth was then elected Participant President of leading education charity Teach First. In 2008 she co-founded and led Jamie’s Farm, a unique therapeutic intervention program to re-engage children at risk of exclusion from school. Ruth’s MA studies focussed on the long term impact of this methodology on children’s resilience. She has co-authored articles with the charity’s Lead Psychotherapist, and has shared practice in the USA, Sweden and the Netherlands. Ruth’s Design Research work focuses on the social design of public space to better include young people.
